Are chimneypot flower pots a good thing? 3 Years, 9 Months ago
There are a number of places where chimneypots are filled with soil and flowers planted in. Is this a good use of chimneypots? Is this likely to induce people into knocking old chimneys down to sell for this purpose? Or is it simply preservation as they may be smashed otherwise? What do you think?

I plant some of mine up with plants but I don't put the soil or compost directly into the chimney pot but use a large plantpot to stand in it. In the winter the soil or compost can get wet then freeze, this can crack the chimney pot, The plantpots can be taken out .
