Over two hundred and fifty years ago there stood a house in the market town of Leek, the Midlands, situated at the southern end of the Pennines, the backbone of England . In front of this house was a dusty road and strolling side by side, three cats.

Thus begins a story of magic and romance.

The story is set in the tearoom of the old house Leek, Staffordshire. It is a story of romance, with a rose at the centre of all that is dear to so many.

On the 15 th February 1889 Phyllis May Green is just four years old when unknowingly she meets one of England's great artists, a poet, socialist, revolutionist and romantic. That meeting set in motion her future career.
